Marino Gardens is an Art Deco apartment complex located in the green suburb of Mount Eden on the city-fringe of Auckland, New Zealand. It was originally constructed in 1935-36, and was awarded the 1936 Gold Medal of the New Zealand Institute of Architects. Following redevelopment in 1992, it is home today to 19 flats, incorporated as a body corporate under the Unit Titles Act (2010), and holds Category 2 heritage status under the Auckland Unitary Plan.
We are a community of people who enjoy and take pride in living in a significant heritage building in a wonderful location.
Each unit includes two bedrooms and an open-plan kitchen and living area, with full-height ceilings and ample casement windows that create light-filled spaces throughout. Each flat also has a covered porch opening out into the courtyard.
Befitting its name, the grounds include extensive plantings and gardens, including both established natives such as nikau and karaka, as well as significant heritage exotics such as magnolia, melia, and camelia. The long building creates considerable private courtyards and common areas for residents, including a swimming pool and changing rooms.
Off-street parking is available for all units.
